Births Deaths Marriages, Administration HQ., Navan Road, Dunboyne, Co Meath. Ireland
N.B. – PLEASE NOTE:
(1). Incorrect information can cause delays and will incur an automatic “search” charge of €27.50 per search request , should the certificate be unobtainable for example, if the event had not been registered. We therefore request that you please ensure that you have the correct names, addresses, dates and locations prior to submitting your certificate requests. Deductions will be made automatically and your receipt will reflect same.
(2). Newborn infants OR recent deaths ARE NOT registered unless you or a family member have gone in to your nearest Births Deaths Marriages Registrar’s Office and registered the event therefore Certificates can ONLY be obtained for events that have actually been registered by the next of kin or appointed executor.
(3) ONLY DHL / International Registered & Express post can be Tracked + Traced (T+T) in the event of an item going missing once dispatched. Standard postal requests while normally OK, should they not arrive there is absolutely no means of finding out what has happened once something is handed over to An Post. As we have no means of following up on any standard mail delivery requests, we therefore recommend that you select the Express option for deliveries within Republic of Ireland or the International Priority Delivery option for worldwide delivery as there is no recourse for documentation that did not have a track and trace option. We can however, provide a scanned copy of the actual certificate issued as proof of dispatch. Should delays occur in delivering documentation, this is totally beyond our control and you agree that we cannot take any responsibility for such occurrences.
N.B. For security purposes all certificates now have a Registration reference ID Number (except Adoption Certificates). If you know this ID in advance please supply it on your application for a certificate. If not, when you receive your new certificate you should take note of the reference ID and keep it in a safe place as this will ensure a more speedy service in the future should you require more certificates.
The Terms & Conditions (T&C) commence once payment has been successfully processed. Delivery times are determined and dependent on the day/time an order has been accepted online and you have received an automated email informing you that your order is being processed. All items are priced individually with the price clearly illustrated during the order process. Please always refer to our T&C. Payments can be made using a current Credit Card for Mastercard or Visa, as well as accepting Debit Cards.
With Effect from 22nd January 2013, the cost of Certificates has been increased by the Minister.
Note re Standard Post: as with all organisations in Ireland, once a certificate is posted as a “standard delivery” and not e.g. by selecting the “express” option, then unfortunately we have no means of tracking an item. We can however confirm on what date an item has been posted (and provide a scanned copy of relevant document/s) but by accepting the standard post option the onus will be on you to contact your local Postal Sorting Office should an item be mislaid or delayed in the Post (hence why we strongly recommend a (T+T) “Track + Trace” delivery method for important documentation). While An Post normally provide a next working day delivery for express items it is unfortunate that due to excessive demands on their services especially prior to holiday seasons that delays may occur and this is outside our control and we can not be responsible should delays occur.
