SECUTIRY TIPS when using an online service :
1. Always make sure you are dealing with a company / personnel who are always contactable by landline phones using a registered office / business landline number that can be verified by Eircom e.g. +353 1 801 33 33.
2. Remember, a company using the PAYPAL facility does not guarantee that a professional service will be provided as monies are deducted at source without confirmation that the cert will in actual fact be provided or that the information provided is accurate to allow the correct documentation to be issued (e.g. incorrect dates / locations etc..)
3. Beware of providing confidential information to locations who use a mobile phone as their primary contact number for obvious reasons, which will look like: 00353 87xxx xxx OR 00353 86xxx xxx etc.) or even have no number at all listed!
4. Always always ask for a contact name and order reference number.
5. Ensure that you can have your certs posted using a track and trace system (i.e. Express Post or EMS if posting abroad) as if any items are lost / mislaid these individuals are likely to request payment to be made again!
Public Death Register (PDR)
Information from Death Certifictes obtained through www.birthsdeathsmarriages.ie are automatially added to the PDR FREE OF CHARGE. Anyone wishing to have a deceaseds information included must submit an Original death certificate along with their contact details, a Stamped Addressed Envelope (SAE) for the safe return of their document along with payment of €7.50 to cover the administration cost involved.
N.B. - PLEASE NOTE:
(1). Incorrect information provided will cause delays and may incur extra "search" charges (@ €15 per search) therefore please ensure you have the correct names, addresses, dates and locations prior to submitting your requests.
(2). Newborn infants OR recent deaths ARE NOT registered unless you or a family member have gone in to your nearest Registrar's Office and registered the event therefore Certificates can ONLY be obtained for events that have actually been registered.
(3) ONLY Express or EMS post can be tracked / traced in the event of an item going missing in the post. Standard postal requests while normally OK, should they not arrive there is absolutely no means of finding out what has happened once something is handed over to An Post. As we have no means of following up on any standard mail delivery requests, we therefore recommend that you select the Express or EMS Delivery option.
N.B. For security purposes all certificates now have a reference ID Number. If you know this ID in advance please supply it on your application for a certificate. If not, when you receive your new certificate you should take note of the reference ID and keep it in a safe place as this will ensure a more speedy service in the future should you require more certificates.
Delivery times come into effect once an order has been accepted online. All items are priced individually with the price clearly illustrated during the order process. Please always refer to our T&C. Payments can be made using a current Mastercard, Visa or a current Laser Card.

Note: as with all organisations in Ireland, once a cert is posted as a standard delivery and not e.g. express, we have no means of tracking an item. We can however confirm on what date an item has been posted but the onus would be on you to contact An Post should an item be mislaid or delayed in the Post.

For Credit Card Payments, we also require the Security Pin Number. This can be found on the rear of the Card in the "Signature Box". We require the last 3 digits of the number listed in the signature box (immediately above where you would sign your name).
Cheque / Postal Order payments are also accepted however, a certificate will not be provided until payment has been received in full.
